Determination of Final Grade |
This course is designed to support students in their other course DMTH 0310. I strongly feel that extra assignments do not necessarily mean extra support. Thus this course will not have any additional assignments besides those already given in DMTH 0310. As a result, students' grades for DMTH 0110 will solely be based on their attendance and participation in DMTH 0110 and DMTH 0310. Students may earn a passing score in DMTH 0110 by attending 70% or more of the class meetings. |

Attendance Policy |
Attendance Policies: If the student is absent for more than 30% of the class meetings they may meet with the instructor during office hours to discuss their absences. The instructor reserves the right to ask for documentation before excusing any absences. Students should come to this meeting with documentation if applicable. If LSCPA’s campus is closed, there will be no penalty for missing class. If the instructor cancels class or announces an optional class day, there will be no penalty for missing class. Attendance will be updated weekly in the course Blackboard under the “attendance” tab. Students can check their attendance records there at any time. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of class, if a student arrives after attendance is taken they may stay for the class but will be counted absent for the day. Students not participating or working on assignments related to DMTH 0310 will be marked absent for the day. This course is intended to be support for DMTH 0310, so all students are expected to work on assignments for DMTH 0310. Students being disruptive will be marked absent for the day. Students may leave early if they have scored 90% or better on all current assignments. The student must show the instructor proof of the score before leaving or no attendance credit will be given. Students may email a screenshot of all current assignments with scores of 100% before the start of class time and earn attendance credit for the day the email is sent. The screenshot must include their name, the date and time in the picture. Emails will only count for attendance credit for the day they are sent on. If a student plans to miss more than one class, they must send an email for each day they miss. The subject of the email should be “DMTH 0110 Attendance credit MM-DD-YYYY”. Any attendance emails received after the start of class will be ignored and not receive a response and attendance credit will not be given. Any attendance emails received that fail to meet the requirements listed above will be ignored and not receive a response and attendance credit will not be given. Opportunities for make-up attendance credit are entirely at the instructor’s discretion. Alternative work may be assigned in order to make-up any missed classes. |
